The 2024 NMHC Women’s Event is set for January 29, 2024 from 1:00 – 4:30 PM.
Happening right before the NMHC Apartment Strategies Conference and NMHC Annual Meeting, the Women’s Event is NMHC’s largest gathering of women leaders. New this year, we are thrilled to host the Women’s Event in partnership with Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW) Network.
Our keynote speaker is Carla Harris, Senior Client Advisor and former Vice Chairman, Morgan Stanley. Harris has headed Morgan Stanley’s Emerging Manager Platform and Equity Private Placements, and executed IPOs for major firms across industry sectors. In her 30+ year career, Harris has been named to Fortune’s list of “The 50 Most Powerful Black Executives in Corporate America,” Fortune’s Most Influential List, U. S. Bankers Top 25 Most Powerful Women in Finance and more.
Attendees will hear from experts about important industry issues and have ample opportunity to make and renew meaningful connections.
Registration is open to women registered to attend the 2024 NMHC Apartment Strategies Conference or the 2024 NMHC Annual Meeting. Women who are registered for a 2024 NMHC Annual Meeting Networking Pass may also register to attend. Separate registration is required for each event.
NMHC’s Women's Event is open only to women who are already registered for one of the following:
- 2024 NMHC Apartment Strategies Conference
- 2024 NMHC Annual Meeting
- 2024 NMHC Annual Meeting Emerging Leader
Note: Separate registration is required for each event. You must first register for the Annual Meeting or Apartment Strategies Conference before registering for the Women's Event.

1:30 - 3:00 p.m. | Crucial Conversations: Professional Development Workshop hosted by CREW Network (Seaport A-D) Join us for this practical and strategic session about crucial conversations. Leaders are responsible for communicating both the good and the difficult up and down the organization. Crucial conversations happen from the C-Suite to the Board, executive leadership to middle managers, and middle managers to emerging leaders. Up and down the chain, leaders need to hone their ability to have crucial conversations. In this session, you will deepen your communication skills, techniques, and preparation for crucial conversations. You will understand your role as “leader as coach.” You will learn skills and techniques to transform your approach to difficult conversations and feel more confident and prepared. Remember, crucial conversations go both ways. You’ll also learn to be prepared for crucial conversations delivered to you. Speaker:
