Join us for the Annual NMHC Student Housing Conference, taking place October 17 - 19, 2023 at the MGM Grand Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada.
This is the premier event for Student Housing professionals bringing together leaders from all facets of the sector including owners, operators, investors, lenders, and university partners. The conference features the industry's best and brightest minds, all at one event, delivering the knowledge, tools, programs and connections necessary for leaders to shape their future success and the future of our industry.
Student Housing Industry Pioneer Bill Bayless will kick off the 2023 NMHC Student Housing Conference by reflecting on the industry’s history and evolution, opportunities and challenges in the current macroeconomic environment, and the sector’s long-term prospects.
Keynote speaker Hessam Nadji, President and CEO of Marcus and Millichap, will give an overview of the state of the economy and have a conversation with NMHC president Sharon Wilson Géno about the implications of the state of the economy on CRE, financial markets and Student Housing.

Conference Registration
You must first register for the meeting in order to make a hotel reservation request. NMHC’s Student Housing Conference is open to NMHC members and non-members. Conference attendance fees or waivers do not include hotel room charges.

Member, sponsor, and kiosk registration is contingent upon dues being current. NMHC reserves the right to close meeting registration should interest exceed availability.
Meeting Registration Cancellation Policy
Meeting registration cancellations must be emailed to membership@nmhc.org. Written requests for meeting cancellation refunds received prior to ten (10) business days before the start of the meeting are entitled to a full refund, minus a processing fee of $250. No meeting cancellation refunds will be granted within ten (10) business days prior to meeting commencement.

Meeting Kiosks
Meeting Kiosks are a turnkey display option, allowing firms to have a dedicated, branded space to use for meetings during the conference. Kiosks are centrally located in The Hub, an open space for attendees to use throughout the conference, making it easy for your firm to connect and meet with attendees. Kiosks are beneficial for firms who set up meetings in advance or during the conference. Kiosks do not require staffing, allowing your company’s representatives to network, attend sessions, and frequent the kiosk as needed for meetings and demos.

Kiosks are open to member and non-member firms. A limited number of kiosks are available. Kiosk units will be assigned in the order applications are received, until space sells out.
Meeting Kiosks are sold out. Please submit the Kiosk Rental Wait List Request Form to be added to the wait list. NMHC will contact you if a kiosk becomes available.

Subgroup Events and Meeting Rooms (Sponsor Firms Only)
All subgroup events/hospitality functions and meeting room rentals taking place at the host hotel during this conference require NMHC approval. Requests made directly through the hotel for event space or meeting rooms will be forwarded to NMHC for review.
Only NMHC sponsor firms (Chair’s Circle, Friends of the Council, or Conference level) are eligible to host a subgroup events and reserve meeting rooms at the host hotel. Event space and meeting rooms will not be assigned to non-sponsoring firms.
Subgroup events and hospitality functions (whether held at the host hotel or off-property) may not conflict with NMHC’s official program hours. Any event or function that competes for attendees’ time, during program hours, is prohibited by NMHC.

These solicitations are not authorized or initiated by NMHC. NMHC reminds exhibitors and sponsor to only order show services from authorized vendors using the forms provided to you by NMHC. Hotel Reservations
NEW for 2023! In order to make a hotel reservation request in the group block you must be a registered attendee.
Check your registration confirmation email for the link to request a room reservation. Please have your meeting registration confirmation code ready when you go to request your reservation. You will be asked to put your unique registration confirmation code on the reservation form. Your confirmation code can be found in your meeting registration confirmation email.
The NMHC discounted nightly room rate is $128 single/double occupancy per night (plus $39/night resort fee and applicable taxes). The deadline to request a room online within the NMHC block is 4 pm EST on Thursday, September 21st. Please note that there is a possibility the block will sell out prior to the deadline, rooms are first come, first serve.
Resort Fee: $39 plus taxes, per night. Includes property-wide high-speed internet access, unlimited local and toll-free calls, airline boarding pass printing, notary service and cardio room access for guests 18+.
Pre-authorization hold: In addition to the nightly rate/taxes/resort fee the hotel requires a pre-authorization hold of $150 for each night of your stay (maximum $600 dollars). This authorization hold will be charged to the card presented at check in.
Triple and Quad Occupancy: If there are more than 2 people on your reservation, a charge of $50 per night will be added for each additional guest.
Important Information on the Hotel Request Process:
- Upon registering for the meeting, you will receive a meeting registration confirmation email which contains the meeting registration confirmation code required to submit your reservation request. Individuals must be registered for the meeting before making a hotel reservation request. Failure to do so will result in your request being cancelled.
- Hotel reservation requests will be acknowledged via email within 24 hours and confirmed within 10 business days by a separate email.

All hotel reservations will require an advance deposit equal to one night’s rate plus taxes. Please CLICK HERE if you have been charged the deposit and wish to request a receipt. Please allow the hotel 24-72 hours to send the receipt to you. If you do not receive it after that time, please email info@sreconference.com.

Canceling your meeting registration will require you to cancel your hotel room reservation. All hotel cancellation requests must be emailed to info@sreconference.com.

Full Reservation Cancellations:
Reservations can be fully cancelled without penalty on or before September 21, 2023. After September 21, 2023, the advance deposit equal to one night's room rate, will be forfeited. Once your request is cancelled you will receive a cancellation confirmation email. All hotel cancellation requests must be emailed to info@sreconference.com.
Reservation Changes
All changes must be emailed to info@sreconference.com at least 72 hours prior to your confirmed arrival date. The NMHC nightly group rate cannot be guaranteed for any additional nights needed, if the change is requested after September 21, 2023. Any changes to your arrival and departure date are subject to availability at the time of your change request; additional room and tax penalties may apply. You will receive an updated confirmation with your change once the reservation is updated. Guests that do not check in on their confirmed arrival date will be classified as a no show and their reservation will NOT be able to be reinstated. No-shows may be charged additional penalties and if there is no prior notification of a date change at least 72 hours prior to arrival.
Hotel Wait List Instructions:
We expect the hotel block to sell out. If you are unable to secure a room reservation at the MGM Grand Hotel & Casino, please CLICK HERE to be placed on the hotel waitlist. Attendees will be assigned rooms on a first come, first serve basis as rooms become available at the hotel. They are able to provide assistance with identifying other hotels in the area if needed.
IMPORTANT NOTICE: Don't get lured in. In the past, sleeping room wholesalers have contacted attendees offering great deals on hotels for the NMHC Student Housing Conference. While it is not illegal for a travel firm or booking agent to solicit potential customers, it can be difficult to determine the legitimacy of offers from these organizations. Those who opt for alternatives to the NMHC negotiated rates may find themselves at risk. NMHC reminds its attendees that we have no affiliation with any of these room brokers.
Ground Transportation
The MGM Grand Hotel & Casino is approximately 2 miles from Henry Reid International Airport. For those of you arriving by air, you have the following alternatives for ground transportation:
- A taxi from Harry Reid International Airport will cost approximately $15 each way and will take approximately 6-10 minutes, depending on traffic.
- For Terminal 1, Ride Share pickup is located on Level 2 of the parking garage. From Baggage Claim, take the elevator near Door 2 up to Level 2. Cross the pedestrian bridge to the parking garage. The pickup area is to the right.
- For Terminal 3, Ride Share pickup is located on the Valet Level of the parking garage. From Baggage Claim, take the elevator near Door 52, 54 or 56 up to Level 1. Cross the pedestrian bridge to the parking garage then take the elevator or stairs down to Valet Level.
