Additionally, Sarah Rahman Joins as a Legislative Analyst and Noah Fischer as a Research Analyst
The National Multifamily Housing Council (NMHC) is pleased to announce that Alex Eveland has joined NMHC as a vice president of government affairs.
Prior to joining NMHC, Eveland was Chief of Staff and longtime staffer for Congressman Ron Kind (D-Wis., 3rd District). Representative Kind is a senior member of the Ways & Means Committee and leader and former Chair of the New Democrat Coalition. The Ways & Means Committee is one of the most important congressional committees as it oversees the development and implementation of major tax policies.
As a senior staffer for Congressman Kind, Eveland served as tax policy advisor during development of major tax legislation and advised on complex issues such as the Administration’s international tax proposals. Additionally, he directed the Congressman’s legislative, political, and outreach strategies during passage of major legislation including the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act and the Inflation Reduction Act.
On coming to NMHC, Eveland will work closely with Government Affairs colleagues and others across NMHC’s departments on crafting tax policy important to the multifamily industry as well as educating lawmakers and staff on the importance of the multifamily industry to the nation’s economy as it provides homes to 40.1 million residents and supports 17.5 million jobs.
NMHC is also pleased to welcome two new analysts to the team. Sarah Rahman joins NMHC as a Legislative Analyst on the Government Affairs team and will be focused on energy, environmental and fair housing policies. Rahman is a graduate of Drexel Law School and Salisbury University. Noah Fischer joins NMHC as a Research Analyst on the Research team and will be conducting analysis via government data and member surveys to identify apartment market trends. Fischer is a graduate of Boston University and soon-to-be graduate of University of Chicago, Harris School of Public Policy.
