The way November is shaping up there is nothing more certain about this election cycle than its uncertainty. This is a cycle without precedent. With the ups and downs of the Presidential nominees, no one can predict what may happen for the White House, the Senate or in the House of Representatives.
This is why NMHC PAC remains laser focused on how the congressional candidates stand on the many issues that relate and affect the multifamily industry.
NMHC has an excellent legislative staff and, coupled with a strong federal PAC fund, this gives the multifamily industry the vital tools it needs to carry out its mission of seeking policies and regulations that help ensure our continued success.
It’s important for all NMHC members to support the PAC’s efforts in this crucial election season. More than 800 NMHC members have participated in the PAC this year. Together, we have built a powerful reputation on Capitol Hill on behalf of the entire multifamily industry and the 38 million residents who call an apartment home.
With the Senate up for grabs, combined with the unpredictability of key House races, we must continue to move forward in lending support to those in Congress who understand our industry. Any level of support to the PAC this year is essential in getting over the goal line in November.
Investing in NMHC PAC is a way of pooling our dollars as industry leaders. And, importantly, making an annual contribution before the end of June enables NMHC PAC to get those funds to candidates with high-risk primaries or general elections who understand and fight on behalf of our issues.
Meeting regularly with lawmakers, the NMHC legislative team discusses critical issues that include taxes, fair housing, housing finance reform, energy, the environment, employment and a host of others.
