- Only proposals from confirmed OPTECH or waitlist exhibitors will be considered for approval.
- Proposals should highlight new or upcoming products and services being rolled out at OPTECH.
- Only one proposal per company may be submitted.
- Presentations must fit in a 4-minute elevator pitch format, with no exceptions. There will be limited time for transitions between presentations.
- NMHC will provide information about presentation requirements and guidelines if accepted to the program. NMHC will give an on-site screen to project the company logo and booth number. NMHC will provide a media table in each presentation room for presenters to leave collateral materials for attendee reference.
- Only one person per company is permitted to make their company pitch.
- Proposals should clearly outline what featured product, service, or new technology will be highlighted and what apartment industry challenge it serves to remedy. (200-300 words maximum)
- Presentations should avoid including any sales-type references (e.g., "Our product compares well with x, and in fact, we can offer all of you a great discount because you came to this session today").
- All proposed speakers should be listed along with their title and company name when submitting the proposal. Complimentary registrations are not included with exhibitor pitches; one complimentary registration will be included with any paid pitch opportunity.
Criteria for selection
NMHC staff will review and select all proposals based on the following:
- Is the product/service/technology being rolled out for the first time at OPTECH?
- Is the provider new at OPTECH?
- No priority will be given to applications made by NMHC members, sponsors, or booth size. Selections will be made based on the content and solutions proposed.
For waitlist companies that wish to participate in the pitch program (i.e., a non-exhibiting company) (if available): $2,500.
- One conference registration
- Speaking time
- Brand impressions through website, social media, emails, etc.
- Program recognition and onsite signage
Selection timeline:
- Proposal submission opening – July 25 – August 16, 2024
- Pitch review and selection – August 19- September 6, 2024
- Notifications and marketing material distribution – September 9, 2024

Presentation Rooms—All rooms have an LCD projector, screen, and wireless Internet access. Pitch presenters can provide a preview of their product but may only do so from their own device (phone or another touchscreen device). Only PPTs or PDFs will be accepted.
Marketing—NMHC encourages supplier partners to market their appearance at OPTECH Opening Pitches. To help suppliers market their appearance at OPTECH, NMHC will provide a digital marketing guide for supplier presenters to help generate interest and create awareness for the activity.
