NMHC OPTECH is the premiere event for industry leaders to explore cutting-edge solutions, share insights, and stay updated with industry trends and best practices. In 2024, we are happy to provide new industry suppliers again with an opportunity to gain visibility and exposure to multifamily professionals attending the conference.
As part of the OPTECH conference, we are pleased to announce the 2024 Opening Pitches—an exclusive opportunity for industry suppliers to showcase their innovative products and services to a highly engaged audience. This document contains all the guidelines and instructions for submitting your application for consideration.
The supplier pitches will be scheduled on Tuesday, October 22, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. ET, before other program events (e.g., concurrent and general sessions), will not interfere with the Expo's open hours.

Presenting at OPTECH's Opening Pitches offers numerous benefits for your company:
OPTECH Opening Pitches are a valuable way for suppliers to showcase their companies and products and network with potential collaborators, investors, strategic partners, and more. These four-minute infomercial presentations allow companies to grab the attention of key individuals and organizations quickly early in the event schedule and increase their chances of securing that prospective meeting.
- Relevance: Your product or service should align with the needs and challenges of multifamily companies.
- Innovation: We are looking for innovative solutions that have the potential to disrupt the industry.
- Impact: Your offering should positively impact multifamily operations, efficiency, or resident experience.
- Presentation: Your application should clearly articulate your value proposition and how you plan to showcase it during the Opening Pitch.
OPTECH Opening Pitches presentation opportunities are open to qualified exhibitors and exhibitor waitlist companies. An additional fee will be charged to non-exhibiting suppliers ($2,500). The selection will be based on the quality of the application, and space is limited to just 30 presentations. Don't miss this opportunity to showcase your company and products at OPTECH's highly anticipated event.
Applications will be reviewed by NMHC staff and members of the OPTECH Planning Committee. The selection criteria include:
- The scheduled openings are available to NMHC member and non-member firms based on eligibility requirements (see below). NMHC staff will manage a review and selection process under the guidance of the NMHC OPTECH Planning Committee.
- Presentation opportunities to companies on the trade show waitlist may be made available if the time within the schedule permits. An additional fee will be charged to non-exhibiting suppliers ($2,500).
- It is essential to note that we anticipate having more session proposals than can be presented in one day.
The application process for OPTECH Opening Pitches is straightforward:
1. Submit your application: Complete the online application form with all required information, including a brief description of your product or service, its relevance in the multifamily industry, and how it is innovative.
2. Await notification: You will receive a confirmation email after submitting your application. The application period is July 25 – August 16, 2024. If selected as a presenter, you will be notified via email no earlier than September 9, 2024.
3. Prepare your presentation: If selected, you will have four minutes to present your company and product to the audience. Ensure your presentation is engaging, informative, and showcases your unique value proposition.
4. Attend OPTECH: All selected companies must attend OPTECH in person to give their presentations. This provides an excellent opportunity for networking and connecting with potential collaborators or investors.
5. Showcase your product digitally via the event app: As an Opening Pitch presenter, NMHC will list your company in our digital event program and website. Take advantage of this opportunity to showcase your company logo and website and connect with attendees throughout the event.
