Eliza Horn will present research on the shifting definition of diversity and how organizations are integrating inclusion within their businesses, emphasizing the essential role of an inclusive leader. Patti Perez, an attorney and expert in organizational culture, will discuss how companies can promote compliance, productivity and engagement at the same time. Speaker: Patti Perez, Vice President of Workplace Strategy, Emtrain Keynote Session: Building a Great Place to Work for All For 20 years, Great Place to Work has produced their gold standard FORTUNE 100 Best Companies to Work For. Michael C. Bush will share research from his newly published book showing that Great Places to Work For All outperform in the stock market and grow revenue three times faster than less-inclusive rivals. He will introduce a new leadership framework showing the advantages of "For All" leaders who not only are business-savvy but also are devoted to fairness, have deep faith in people and empower all individuals to reach their full human potential. The NMHC Leadership Forum on Diversity & Inclusion is open to all NMHC members.

Registration is contingent upon membership dues being current. Due to space limitations, we request that no more than six (6) representatives from a member company attend.

We kindly ask that you (and your assistants) not automatically book registrations/rooms for these meetings unless you are reasonably sure that you’ll be able to attend. (Please see "Meeting No Shows" below.)

NMHC's hotel room block is currently sold out for the night of May 8th; however, the Four Seasons still has availability on May 8th at a higher rate. Please contact the hotel's reservation department at 972/717-2499 to book your reservation. If you are booking a room for the night of May 8th, please ask the hotel to place you on a waitlist for the group rate for the night of the 8th. You will be notified by the hotel should anything become available.

Room reservations should be made directly with the Four Seasons Resort & Club Dallas at Las Colinas online or by calling the hotel's reservation department at 972/717-2499. NMHC set aside a block of rooms for meeting attendees with a cut-off date of Friday, April 13. Our group rates start at $299 per night (plus applicable taxes). Please specify that you will be attending the National Multifamily Housing Council or NMHC Meeting when speaking to the reservations agent. Rooms are limited.

We expect our room block to sell out. If your plans change and you need to cancel your reservation at the Four Seasons, please contact Melissa Rowan at mrowan@nmhc.org before canceling with the hotel so she may reassign your room to another NMHC member on the hotel's wait list, if one exists. Please check the NMHC website periodically for hotel update information.

Meeting No Shows

NMHC prides itself on bringing the leading apartment industry executives to our membership meetings. As part of your membership benefit, we’ve also made this event free to attend.

Unfortunately, by not charging a fee, we have found that a not insignificant number of members automatically register for the meeting and book hotel rooms without knowing whether their schedules allow them to actually attend. And then a few weeks before the meeting when schedules are more solid, a fair number of these rooms/reservations are canceled.

We understand the desire to book a room and register for the meeting as an “insurance policy” in case you can attend. But we wanted to help you understand why that’s a problem for NMHC. First, it has serious financial consequences for us. We have to guarantee a certain number of rooms for every meeting, meaning we have to pay for them even if no one ends up using them. Last minute cancellations mean empty rooms (as well as food and beverage guarantees) that we can’t fill or alter, but must pay for.

We kindly ask that you (and your assistants) not automatically book registrations/rooms for these meetings unless you are reasonably sure that you’ll be able to attend.

We understand that emergencies come up and cause last minute cancellations, but if we can reduce the number of non-emergency cancellations, it will allow us to save money that we can redirect to other projects that directly support the industry.

Local Transportation

The Four Seasons Resort & Club Dallas at Las Colinas is approximately 7 miles from Dallas/Ft. Worth International Airport (DFW) and approximately 10 miles from Dallas Love Field Airport (Love Field). For those of you arriving by air, you have the following alternatives for ground transportation:

A taxi from DFW will cost approximately $25-30 each way and will take approximately 15-20 minutes, depending on traffic. Taxi service is available on the upper level of Terminals A, B, C and E, and on the lower level of Terminal D. A taxi from Love Field costs approximately $25-30 And will take approximately 20-25 minutes, depending on traffic.
An alternative to taxi service is the SuperShuttle. It is a shared ride service and may make multiple stops. From DFW, the cost is $15 per person, one way. From Love Field, the cost is $20 per person, one way. SuperShuttle also offers ExecuCar, which is a private sedan service, with rates starting at $47 from DFW and $65 from Love Field, one way for up to three people.
