Important Membership Update: NMHC Announces Changes to Spring and Fall Meetings
In this election year, housing has never been a more debated issue at the local, state and Federal levels. There are numerous policy proposals – both positive and negative – that could fundamentally change our ability to provide the housing America needs for generations to come. Now more than ever, our ability to create a pro-housing business environment depends on multifamily related businesses being engaged with each other and the policy making process.
NMHC is a growing and engaged community, as reflected in the increased interest in NMHC meetings. In order to better meet the moment, we are excited to announce that registration criteria and other meeting details have been adjusted for NMHC’s 2024 Spring and Fall Meetings. These changes will provide NMHC members with even greater engagement, especially around housing affordability, and provide high quality opportunities for the NMHC membership to be actively engaged in our advocacy work at this critical time.
- NMHC’s Spring Board of Directors Meeting has been renamed to NMHC Spring Meeting and will be held on May 6-8, 2024 and will be open to all members.
- The NMHC Leadership Forum will no longer be held the day before the Spring Meeting.
- NMHC’s Fall Meeting has been reimagined to the NMHC Fall Board of Directors Meeting and will be open to Executive Committee and Board level members only —with special access granted to Advisory members as described below.
- For those Advisory Level members interested in attending this meeting, there are two ways for you to secure access: Consider moving up to the Board of Directors Membership . Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
- The NMHC Spring Meeting focus will now be on workforce housing and capital markets. While the format and panel discussions will center on these issues, NMHC invites all members – regardless of your operational footprint – to register for this meeting. This meeting will be a great opportunity to share and learn best practices, discuss policy and practitioner hurdles and network with others interested in this line of work.
- The NMHC Fall Board of Directors Meeting will remain focused on legislative and regulatory issues impacting the housing sector.
NMHC's long-term commitment to Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) promotes DEI as a business imperative. NMHC will not hold a Leadership Forum on DEI, but our commitment continues to be visible as we further integrate DEI into our advocacy, research, networking and membership engagement activities. You will hear more about these activities in the coming months after the DEI Committee finalizes its work plan.
The DEI Committee meeting will be closed to non-committee members for the Spring Meeting to allow the DEI and Membership Engagement Committees to collaborate on finalizing their respective work plans.
