Join us for a very unique Emerging Leaders event in Chicago on May 14 when we will host a private Chicago architectural boat tour aboard Chicago’s First Lady. The tour will feature Mary Ludgin, Heitman’s Head of Global Research, to be our docent/tour guide.
In addition to knowing our industry, Mary is a phenomenal speaker on all things architectural in the Windy City and used to be Mayor Daley’s personal docent for tours around Chicago with various dignitaries.
This event is open to NMHC members and non-members, so please feel free to share this with your network of contacts who might be interested in learning more about NMHC and our Emerging Leaders program. (Space is limited, however, so registrations are on a first-come, first-served basis.)
When?
Tuesday, May 14, 2019
- 6:00 pm – Check In
- 6:15 pm – Boarding
- 6:30-8:00 pm – Boat Tour
Where?
Tour departs from the Chicago Riverwalk at Michigan Avenue and Wacker Drive (southeast corner of the DuSable/Michigan Avenue Bridge).
Look for their blue awning. Use 112 E. Wacker Drive for GPS purposes.
Parking Information
There are three ways to validate a parking ticket – (1) prepay online, (2) at our ticket office or (3) at the bar onboard the boats.
1. Prepay Online - Best Option
Ideally, guests should prepay for parking online at cruisechicago.com/location. This
eliminates the need for further validation and is especially useful for night and evening
charters when our ticket office might be closed.
2. Validation at CFL Ticket Office
If prepaying online isn’t an option, guests may park in the garage and validate their
parking tickets at the ticket office. The ticket office has the official parking validation
machine. When guests validate at our ticket office, they can then use the ticket to exit the
garage just as they would normally. It is a good idea to validate tickets prior to event
boarding, as the ticket office may be closed afterwards.
3. Validation onboard CFL Boats
Guests can also have parking tickets stamped onboard any boat by the bartender with a parking validation stamp. Note: with this method, guests will also need to visit the LAZ parking garage office to get the final/official validation (open 24/7). The LAZ office is located in Illinois Center on the concourse
level across the hall from Potbelly’s.
Parking Rates
1-3 Hours: $14 (with validation)
3-4 Hours: $15 (with validation)
After 4 hours: Standard rates apply
How Much?
- $50 for employees of NMHC member firms
- $75 for non-members
Registration includes boat tour as well as beer, wine, soda and hors’ d’oeurves.
Other Details:
- The boat tour will depart rain or shine
- The boat features an open-air upper deck and a climate-controlled interior salon for guest comfort.
- Well-appointed restrooms are located onboard
Speaker
Mary Ludgin Managing Director – Head of Global Research
Mary is Heitman’s Managing Director, Head of Global Research and an equity owner of the firm. She is a member of the firm’s Board of Managers, Global Management Committee, North American Private Equity Valuation Committee, and Private Equity and Debt Investment Committees. She is the author of numerous articles and research studies relating to real estate markets, portfolio management and strategy. Prior to joining Heitman, she was an urban planner for the City of Chicago and she worked in retail site location.
Mary received an AB from Vassar College and an MA and PhD from Northwestern University. She is a Governing Trustee of the Urban Land Institute and sits on its Global Board of Directors. Mary also chairs ULI’s Chicago District Council. Among other professional affiliations, she served two terms on the board of the Pension Real Estate Association and was its president. Mary is also a former president of the National Council of Real Estate Investment Fiduciaries. She was named a fellow of the Homer Hoyt Institute in 2000, is a docent for the Chicago Architecture Foundation and is a member of the board of the Metropolitan Planning Council of Chicago.
