NMHC/NAA's new integrated public relations campaign titled “Apartments. We Live Here” launched in 2013. This first-ever pro-apartment PR campaign reflects 18 months of work and is designed tell policymakers the story about how in communities across the country, apartments work-helping people live in a home that’s right for them.
NMHC/NAA's combined efforts have produced:
- A second phase of our joint website -WeAreApartments.org
- Three new print media ads
- A 60-second and 30-second radio spot that highlight apartments as homes
- Six new online banner ads
- A high impact direct mailing to key media, policymakers, city planners and every mayor in the U.S.
The centerpiece of this campaign is a unique digital approach to information storytelling at www.weareapartments.org. Instead of a static infographic, the site navigates users through an interactive experience that highlights how communities grow stronger through apartment jobs, dollars and residents.
The site also features an interactive map of apartment information for all 50 states along with a one-of-its-kind calculator to determine the potential economic contribution of any apartment development to a particular state.
The print, radio and digital advertisements serve as a window into the home of apartment residents by highlighting their personality through snapshots of their daily lives. The first wave of the campaign will begin in Washington, D.C. on May 6, with ads in Politico magazine and several major DC radio stations.
The ads and additional campaign information can be found at http://weareapartments.org/about-campaign.
