Lisa E. Blackwell is Vice President, Housing Policy and has primary responsibility for federal level housing issues for the NMHC/National Apartment Association Joint Legislative Program. Lisa has more than 25 years of government affairs and real estate experience. Before joining the Council, Lisa was the Managing Director of Government Affairs for the American Institute of Architects, where she developed legislative strategies on behalf of the nation's architects. Prior to that, she spent nine years with the National Association of Realtors working on a variety of housing issues. She also lobbied on behalf of Cornell University and worked for two members of Congress from New York State. Lisa holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the State University of New York College at Fredonia.
